You DIG postholes. But if you are putting in a thin, deep hole
as in a bore - then you DRILL it.
And, if you are drilling a hole - a normal posthole auger drive
is not good enough. This is because you will need to work in an
absolute straight line and keep your angle to the ground constant.
Most posthole diggers are not good enough, therefore you need a
drill drive that is constant in direction. And, Dingo has such
an attachment in their range.
Basically, the Mast Post Hole Digger is a posthole auger drive that slides
up and down a shaft, driven vertically by a hydraulic ram. Standard
stroke sizes are to suit 1m and 1.5 m auger extension sections.
These extensions are readily available.
So if you want to dig a hole to 150 dia and 15m deep, you take
an auger and 9 extensions and very quickly you have that exact
hole.
This drive unit suits best when dealing with holes up to 300mm
dia, but larger holes can be done, if a bit slower. So far the
deepest we have tried drilling was 22m. We found it a BORING job
- But easy to do (pardon the pun).
This Mast Hole Digger will be available with the Wheelmotor Drive Post Hole Digger only and
will be suitable for augers up to 350mm diameter.
